After you have read this short article, you will discover what WordPress plugins are, their importance, what they can be used for and where to find and install them.
Let’s get started.
What are WordPress Plugins?
WordPress plugins are apps that can be installed on a WordPress website to give the site some additional functionality and features, so to speak.
Just as you can install apps on your SmartPhones to give it some specific functionality, that’s how you can add some functionality to your WordPress site with WordPress plugins. Make sense?
You know what? Right now as we speak there are over 48,000 free WordPress plugins in the WordPress.org plugin directory. In other words, you can add over 48,000+ functionality to your WordPress site for free (if you can). 🙂
How cool is that?
Also, there are thousands upon thousands of premium WordPress plugins that are being sold by developers all over the world and from my experience of using WordPress for over 4 years now, there’s no functionality you wish to add to your WordPress site that isn’t possible with plugins.
What Can WordPress Plugins Be Used for?
Do you wish to add images to navigation menus in WordPress? There’s a plugin for that or do you wish to create an online store for yourself? There’s a plugin for it. There are tons of plugins you can use to create an online store. One popular plugin you can use to create an online store is called the WooCommerce plugin.
And if you wish to create a membership site, there are tons of plugins you can use to achieve that for free, my friend.
Also, if you wish to create a Wiki like site, you can use the knowledge base plugin to do just that. I want you to just think of any functionality you want on your site; there are plugins for any functionality you can think of.
